Kailash: Sacred Kora from Lhasa
A pilgrimage to the holy mountain — not for impressions, but for meeting yourself.
27 September – 12 October 2026 · Tibet
Kailash is a sacred mountain for six religions — the most mysterious peak in the world. The program: kora (ritual circumambulation) around Kailash, Everest Base Camp, Guge, and the key sacred sites of Tibet.
In 2026, sacred Mount Kailash and Lake Manasarovar become the centre of a large pilgrimage with rare astrological energy.
This is the Fire Year of the Horse in the Tibetan calendar — once every 60 years. In this period a pilgrimage to Kailash is considered many times more powerful in spiritual merit than in an ordinary year.
What is kora
Kora is a circumambulation of the holy mountain. By tradition, each step clears karma and restores clarity. This is not ordinary trekking, but a conscious inner path along a spiritual route to a place of power and transformation.

When does the group start and how long is the trip?
Departure 27 September 2026, 16 days / 15 nights: Lhasa — Yamdrok — Shigatse — EBC — Kailash kora — Guge — return to Lhasa (12 October). Join-in group, usually up to 16 people; the 27 Sep departure already has a small group forming.
Which hotels are used for Comfort on 27 September?
Typically: Lhasa — Lagri Snow Dragon Manor; Shigatse — Cangyu Yabu; EBC — tent camp; Saga — Vienna 3 Best; Darchen — Oxygen-rich Shanshui; Zanda — Tulin Castle; Sakya — Sakya Nyetsang. Final list depends on availability; a similar-standard hotel is used if one is fully booked.
Is the expedition film included?
Yes. The €5500 price includes professional video filming and an expedition film of your journey.
Are porters / yaks included on the kora?
No — they are a personal expense. Your guide can help hire them locally if you need them.
Oxygen on the route?
One disposable bottle per person is included. Extra bottles can be bought along the way; prices in Lhasa are usually better than near Kailash. An emergency oxygen cylinder is also kept in the vehicle.
Single-room supplement?
For Comfort ≈ €600 (Deluxe ≈ €850). Tour price is based on twin sharing.
What language does the guide speak?
On regular small-group tours: English or Chinese–English. Russian-speaking guides in Tibet are rare and much more expensive (usually private only). An English-speaking guide is fine for this international group.
How do I book and what is the deposit?
≈ €280 deposit per person to confirm (card / Alipay / WeChat / PayPal / cryptocurrency). Tibet Travel Permit processing usually starts about one month before departure — best to deposit early.
Tips?
Not included. Recommended ≈ €8 per person per day (€4 guide + €4 driver).
What is the maximum altitude?
Drolma La pass — 5,630 m. Lhasa — 3,650 m, Darchen — about 4,670 m. The program includes acclimatisation in Lhasa before gaining altitude.
Why is September 2026 special?
2026 is the Year of the Fire Horse in the Tibetan calendar (once every 60 years). By tradition, one kora around Kailash in this year counts as 13 circumambulations.
How physically demanding is the route?
This is a real high-altitude pilgrimage. The Kailash kora is about 52 km over 3 days, with Drolma La pass at 5,630 m. You need average or above-average fitness and readiness for altitude. Acclimatisation is built in, the pace is comfortable, porters and yaks carry the load, and the team supports you throughout. This is not a race — it is a conscious path.
What about food?
Meals are organised for the region and altitude. In towns — full meals in hotels and restaurants. On the kora — simple, warm, sustaining food to restore energy. We take participant preferences into account when possible.
Can I travel alone?
Yes. Most participants come on their own. The group is made of people with similar values who are ready for a deep experience — while everyone keeps personal space and time for themselves.
Is this a religious tour?
No. We respectfully engage with Buddhist tradition and Tibetan culture, visit monasteries and sacred places, but the program does not require belonging to any religion. It is a spiritual journey in a broad sense — awareness, inner path, and personal meaning.
Do I need meditation or spiritual practice experience?
No. The program suits any level. Experienced participants can deepen their practice; beginners can gently enter meditation and mindful attention on the way to Kailash.
Kailash does not change you from the outside. It returns you to who you are — without masks. Each step of the kora is not conquering a mountain but meeting yourself.
